Sharon Farber Scores the Sundance Film “Brainwashed” by Nina Menkes

Israeli musician Sharon Farber scored the feature documentary from Award-winning director Nina Menkes, “Brainwashed: Sex-Camera-Power”, which premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and was selected to the Berlin International Film Festival.

Hailed as “Vigorous”, “Accessible, engrossing, urgent, and horrifying…”, “Eye-opening”…“Startling… destined to forever change how its audience watches films ” the film is presented by Tim Disney, Susan Disney Lord, Abigail Disney & Menkesfilm.

“Brainwashed” explores the Visual Language of Cinema and uses film clips by A-list directors from the 1940s through to the present, to show how the visual grammar of cinema contributes to conditions that create discriminatory hiring practice, pay inequity and a pervasive environment of sexual harassment in the film industry and beyond.
