Sharon Farber – new projects and collaborations

Composer Sharon Farber has been extremely busy lately. Sharon, who is a four EMMY award nominated, has recently completed the score for Mike Burstyn’s feature film AZIMUTH, which takes place at the Sinai desert at the end of the six-day war. Right after, Sharon will be scoring Michael Horwitz’s film “Color Red”, starring Shani Atias and that will be followed by composing the music for director Shahar Zafania’s feature comedy.

Last month, Sharon collaborated with international singing sensation Liel Kolet, by arranging Liel’s song, “Ray Of Hope” for a full symphony orchestra. The song, to lyrics by Shimon Peres, was featured in a concert of “Save a child’s heart” organization, which also featured Melissa Manchester and others, performed by the Jewish Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Dr. Noreen Green. Shortly after, Sharon music directed and wrote all the arrangements for the Israeli American Consul Gala, collaborating with singer Chris Mann and many other wonderful musicians.

In the concert world, Sharon’s powerful concert adaptation of “Jerusalem of Gold” was performed on April 30th by the Jewish Symphony Orchestra, the AJU choir and the and the Bel Air vocal ensemble, featuring Grammy winner soprano Hila Plitman and conducted by Dr. Noreen Green.

Sharon’s acclaimed concerto for Cello, Orchestra and Narrator, “Bestemming (Destination) based on the remarkable story of Holocaust survivor Curt Lowens, is scheduled to be performed four times this November, featuring cellist Amit Peled and conducted by Maestro Yaniv Atar.
