Lahav Shani to be Appointed IPO Music Director

The musicians of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra have chosen AICF grant recipient Lahav Shani as their next Music Director. Mr. Shani will succeed Maestro Zubin Mehta as Music Director Designate in the 2019/2020 season and will be the Music Director outright in the 2020/2021 season.

Mr. Shani was born in Tel Aviv in 1989, and is a renowned pianist and conductor who has been supported by AICF from a young age. He holds the appointment of Chief Conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra as well as that of guest conductor of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.
