About Talia Paz

Born 1968 in New York and was trained for 8 years in ballet schools in Israel.

She continued her education at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague Holland and then returned to Israel where she danced for three years with the Batsheva Dance Company under the artistic management of Ohad Naharin.
In 1992 Talia Won the first prize as best dancer in the Modern Dance Competition of Susanne Dellal Dance Center Israel.

Talia was a member of the Scapino Ballet in Holland for two years under the direction of Nils Christe and Ed Wubbe before joining the Cullberg Ballet in 1992.

For the last 12 years in the Cullberg ballet Talia has danced many roles with many leading choreographers. She has performed the Silver and Gold Fairies and the queen mother in Mats Ek's modern version of Sleeping Beauty.
In Mats Ek's Swan Lake she dances the role of the Queen mother and as the Australian paper phrase it " Talia Paz an outstanding performer powerful and dominatrix…".

In 2001 At the Barbican theater London Talia received an out standing critics for her role in "solo for two" by Mats Ek - " A giant personality in the shape of the magnificent Talia Paz… opening the subconscious like lightning shattering a tree.." (the telegraph 18/06/01).

In 1999, Talia received the Philip Morris Flower Dance Award in Sweden, as the best dancer of the year. In 2001, The Rikstheatren in Sweden awarded Talia "dancer of the year".

Talia has been freelancing since 2002 touching and enriching her styles with different new movements and acting, while experiencing the craft of teaching ballet and mounting ballet pieces on different companies for different leading choreographers.

At the present Talia is working as a ballet mistress for the Bat Sheva dance company in Israel, performing her evening solos in different festivals, and evening galas around the world. Talia's repertoire includes works by Mats Ek, Carolyn Carlson, Sharon Eyal, and others.
