About Sharon Stark

Sharon Ingrid Stark is an actress, director, and playwright based in Tel Aviv. Born in 1974, She is a graduate of School of American Ballet, New York, Nissan Nativ Acting Studio, Tel Aviv, and Seminar Hakibutzim, where she completed B.Ed. with the highest excellence.

Her professional career began in dance. After graduating, she joined Scapino Ballet in Rotterdam. She then turned into acting and studied at Nissan Nativ Acting Studio in Tel Aviv. Stark has played lead roles in a variety of television series: Lost in Africa, Mama's Angel, The Greenhouse Academy and more. On Stage she played dozens of critically acclaimed roles at Haifa and Khan Theater. After a decade of Repertory Theater, her work has expanded into the fields of writing and directing. Her original plays are presented at theater festivals and the best independent theater venues, including Tzavta and Tmuna Theater in Tel Aviv.
Stark's plays explore the paradoxes of modern life. She examines themes of identity and search for meaning by deconstructing and rebuilding a surrealistic parallel reality. With sharp humor she invites the viewer to observe role-plays and unaware choices we make. Her comedies center on processes of awakening and self-definition. The play Trulove Ltd. was recently translated into the Georgian language as part an Israeli female Plays Ontology.


As a theater actress, Sharon worked with Haifa Theater, the Khan Theater, Tmuna Theater, and Akko Festival. She plays on many comic and dramatic TV Series, Mama’s Angle being the most recent one. As writer and director she presents her original work in Tmuna Theater, and stages productions at different Acting Academies. Noteworthy performances in the theater include Helen in Machinal, (Dir. Sinai Peter), Vivi in Happiness by Michael Gurevitch, The Creature in Town of the Small People (Nominated for best supporting actress) Directed by Ofira Henig, The Mother in Theorema (Dir.
