About Michal Oren

Michal Oren is a conductor and a clarinet player (born 1997, Tel Aviv).

Michal is the chief conductor and the musical manager of the “Museum Orchestra” of Petach Tikva Museum of Art. A new orchestra that connecting music and visual art. It was initiated together with the museum’s manager, Ms. Reut Ferster.

Michal’s conducting appearances include: The Israeli Chamber Orchestra, Haifa Symphony Orchestra, Berlin Sinfonietta, Pazardjik Symphony Orchestra, Tel Aviv Soloists Ensemble, Rehovot Classica Orchestra, the IDF Orchestra and more.

Since 2020, Michal has been appointed as conductor and musical manager of the Israeli Flutes Ensemble.

Michal’s work represents a contemporary modern approach aiming to combine classical music with additional arts as a new step in the 21st century’s cultural creation.

Michal was awarded with a scholarship from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and was additionally granted with a scholarship of excellence by the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music for her academic studies in the conducting department.

Furthermore, Michal won in 2020 the first prize in the conducting competition of the Buchmann Mehta school of music with Haifa’s symphony orchestra.

Michal graduated her studies at “Ironi Alef” High School of the Arts in Tel-Aviv in 2015 as an “outstanding student” of the classical music department.

Michal is currently studying a dual degree at the Buchman-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv University. The first in the conducting department and the second in the clarinet performance department.

Amongst Michal’s teachers are the conductors: Mr. Yi-An Xu, M. Doron Salomon, Dr. Dale Lonis, the IPO principal clarinetist Mr. Yevgeny Yehudin and the principal IPO Bass clarinetist, Jonathan Hadas.
