About Inbar Sharet

Inbar Sharet (b. 1996) is an Israeli composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist. He is currently pursuing his Masters in Composition at the Basel Academy of Music, studying with Caspar Johannes Walter and Johannes Kreidler. In his recent works, Inbar focuses on the expressive and performative potential that one can find in the social interaction and communication between the performers on stage.

His pieces were performed by ensembles such as Meitar Ensemble, the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music contemporary ensemble and the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music symphonic orchestra.

Inbar is a co-founder of the contemporary-free improvisation ensemble FICTA. The ensemble consists of composer-performers and focuses mainly on open scores and improvisational environments. FICTA performed in venues such as Tzlil Me'udcan festival (Jaffa-Tel Aviv) and collaborated with artists such as Maestro Ilan Volkov and composer Bnaya Halperin-Kaddari.

Honors include scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation (Sharett scholarship), excellence scholarships from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, the Dean's list (Faculty of arts, Tel Aviv University 2019, 2020, 2021). Inbar won the Klon competition of the Israeli composers' league for young composers (3rd place, 2021).

Inbar holds a Bachelor of Music in composition (Magna cum laude) from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music (Tel Aviv University), where he studied composition with Ruben Seroussi and Dan Yuhas.
