Halleli Smoly - BIOGRAPHY

Halleli was born in Israel in 2008. She was 6 years old when she started taking piano lessons at the “Kfar-Sava Music Conservatory”, where she studies under the dedicated guidance of Ms. Adela Omansky. Halleli has participated in concerts and music events from the very beginning of her musical career, and over the years has always received high honors of excellence from the conservatory.

From September 2020 until June 2022 she was also a student in the Classical Music Program in “Hakfar Hayarok Junior High School”.

From September 2022 Halleli is a student in the Classical Music Program of the well-known “Thelma Yellin Israeli national school for the arts”.

In 2015, when she was only 7 years old, Halleli won the 1st place at the “Golden Key Piano Competition” that took place in Tel-Aviv.

In 2017, Halleli was invited by the “Zefunot Culture Association” to play a concert with the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Competition winner, Daniel Chubano. She also received a scholarship from the association.

In 2019, when she was 11 years old, Halleli won 3rd place in the “Pnina Salzman National Piano Competition” for young pianists in Kfar-Sava. Later in 2019, she won second place in the “Piano Forever National Competition” in Ashdod.
On that same year, Halleli was identified as gifted and outstanding in the field of music by the Gifted and Talented Division and the Supervision of Music Education. She was included in a unique national pilot program for nurturing gifted and outstanding young musicians. She had also been selected to the “Jerusalem Music Center (JMC) Piano Program” for young, gifted pianists (established by JMC President Murray Perahia), where she participates in series of educational activities and intensive courses and masterclasses with leading pianists from Israel and the world.

In 2021, when she was 12 years old, Halleli won third place again in the “Pnina Salzman National Piano Competition” in Kfar-Sava for the 12-15 years old group. She was the youngest in the group.

In August 2021, Halleli was the youngest pianist to be chosen to participate at the Tel Hai International Piano Master Classes Festival (Patron: the world-renown pianist, Evgeny Kissin), that took place in Sde-Boker in the Negev. She had a great success, and her performance greatly impressed the professors and the audience.

In 2022, when she was 13 years old, Halleli won the 1st place in the first competition of the piano department of the Kfar-Sava Conservatory for the category of age 12-14.

Halleli was awarded the Creative Excellence Grant with high honors from the “America-Israel Cultural Foundation” for the years 2020-21 and 2021-2022.
