About Iris Gitik

Iris Gitik is a multidisciplinary artist, graduate of the Midrasha art faculty in Beit Berl, class of 2022. Originally from Kfar Saba, Iris now works and lives in Haifa.

She examines the materials aspects of drawing. In her work, drawing is a tool for observing and expressing herself. She usually draws while wandering about. For Iris, sauntering includes observations, drawing and collecting of items.

By combining these activities and examining materials, Iris places her art installations. Every installation simulates a certain material world, through which she deals with classic themes such as self portrait, still life and landscape, human relations to nature, self identity, womanhood, otherhood and humanity.
